Brenda Lee Guan

Family law and Probate

Brenda has been practicing law since 2024. She is licensed in both Iowa and Minnesota, and focuses her practice on family law and estate planning matters, including probate. Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and French, Brenda has a particular passion for serving the legal needs of individuals who do not speak English as their primary language.

Born in Ames and raised in Ankeny, Brenda studied political science and linguistics while playing tennis at Grinnell College. After serving for one year with AmeriCorps at Iowa Legal Aid, Brenda attended law school at The University of Iowa, during which she coached tennis at West High School and participated in the U.S. Marine Corps’ officer selection program.

In her free time, Brenda enjoys playing tennis, reading, traveling, and keeping up with her younger sisters, Claudia and Esther. She is a member of Walnut Creek Church’s downtown campus and remains involved in high school tennis as a volunteer coach.
